Winter-Spring 2011 collection by Tim Ryan Knitwear and it is very stylish collection.Tim Ryan Currently London based, Irish knitwear designer Tim Ryan was born in 1973, and is originally from Puckane in Co. Tipperary. From 1990-1992 he studied sculpture at the Limerick School of Art and Design. He had earlier learned to knit at home from his mother. Tim spent 12 years in Ireland producing hand made knit and crochet pieces for limited edition boutique runs and private clients before moving to London in 2005. The collections are always knitwear and always fully-fashioned and 100% hand made or hand loomed on domestic machinery. All of Tim’s designs are ethically produced in Europe. Mostly in the UK and Ireland. The first collection for winter ’07 was shown at Dublin Fashion Week and was awarded the Brown Thomas Dublin Showcase award. This included a pop-up concession space on the International Designer Room in Brown Thomas, Dublin during the Winter ’07 season. Since then collections have been shown at Dublin, London and Paris Fashion Weeks.source
Tim Ryan learn't how to make clothes on his mother’s domestic sewing machine, crafting with various yarns or strips that he had to hand. Growing up devouring issues of 70s Vogue, it is this influence that seeps through into Ryan’s work. Displaying a sexually powerful and liberated woman, Ryan’s passionate use of color and handmade techniques highlight his defiantly body conscious designs.
